Deferral of Admission

*WE DO NOT PROCESS UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA TWIN CITIES STUDENTS*

This form is for any student that has been admitted to the University of Minnesota Rochester and would like to defer their admission and enrollment to a future term. Once the form is submitted, students will be reviewed by the Admissions Office and notified of their decision.

• Students are able to defer up to one calendar year from the term they were admitted to. 
• Students are not eligible to take courses at another college or university during the period of deferment.
• UMR Admissions cannot guarantee the retention of scholarship from one academic year to the next in the case of deferral. Contact One Stop for further information.
• For students admitted to Early Assurance programs:
  • Spring Deferral: Deferring your enrollment to spring semester will rescind your offer to any Early Assurance program.
  • Respiratory Care and Physician Assistant programs: Your admission to the Early Assurance track will be rescinded upon deferral.
  • Nursing, Pharmacy and Occupational Therapy programs: Your admission to the Early Assurance track will be reconsidered for the deferred year after December 1.
